You have heard of the five Mother Sauces essential to Classical Cuisine. Well, this is the Mother Rub. I learned this from a restaurant owner in Charlotte, NC several years ago. He used it on everything from Elk Burgers with Black Truffles to Grilled Salmon. The guy never altered this rub, but I often add a bit of this and that depending on what I am cooking.
1 part Garlic Salt
1 part Onion Powder
1 part Black Pepper
That’s all there is to it. Be careful not to use both Onion SALT and Garlic Salt. You can, however, use Onion Salt and Garlic Powder in the same proportions.
